LES EXPATRIÉES - EXPAT GULLS

De petites mouettes ont attérri à Paris à la suite d'une erreur de navigation. Attirées par le faste de la grande ville, elles se prenaient pour des reines, et trônaient dans des lieux prestigieux et improbables, défiaient les pigeons sur leur territoire.


Little gulls have landed in Paris following an error of navigation. Attracted by the spendour of the big city, they thought they were queens, they dominated in prestigious and unlikely places, challenged pigeons on their territory.


Mais l'attrait pour Paris s'est vite révélé un miroir aux alouettes. Les réjouissances n'ont qu'un temps, le vent de la mer, les grands espaces leur manquèrent.


Et, aujourd'hui elles guettent une péniche qui voudra bien les prendre en stop pour regagner l'estuaire de la Seine, et retrouver leur liberté perdue. Elles attendent patiemment coincées entre la voie rapide et Seine.

But the attraction for Paris was in fact a lark mirror (something that deceives but at the same time is fascinating). Celebrations no more last, they missed sea wind and wild-open-spaces.

And today, they watch out for a barge to give them a ride until the estuary of the Seine, and find back their lost freedom. They are waiting patiently, caught between the speedway and the Seine.

La maison du saumon à Chartres est un vestige des habitations à colombage de la place de la poissonnerie où l'on négociait le poisson dès le Moyen Age.

The Salmon House at Chartres is a relic of the half-timbering house that remains on the place de la poissonnerie (fish-shop square) where were negociated fishes as soon as the Middle Age.

C'était possible à la fin du 19ème siècle dans l'ancienne rue du Marché aux Chevaux (aujourd'hui au 5 rue Geoffroy-Saint-Hilaire 5ème arrondissement). Ici, l'ancienne entrée du batiment du marché aux chevaux de l'époque.

Le mien est garé en bas de chez moi.

It was possible at the end of the 19th century in the rue du Marché aux Chevaux (Horses Market street), today named Rue Geoffroy Saint Hilaire 5ème arrondissement. Here, the old entrance of the horses market.
