ARTIFICIAL SUN

What is that?
We need desperately sun at this specific time.

Will this be enough to satisfy us?

Behind the Big Wheel, les Jardins du Luxembourg.

At the right of the Big Wheel, l'Obélisque de Louxor made in pink granite. It is one of the 2 Obélisques which was in front of the Louxor temple .

It has been transported in France from Egypt by boat and assembled again in this place around 1830.
It was at this place that Louis XVI has ben executed, as well as Robespierre a few years after. The wheel has turned also for revolutionaries. That's History.

In my back, avenue des Champs Elysées.
Here, our shining sun in the evening

Don't pay attention to the traffic, it's Paris! And some of us haven't understood yet that we have public transport! They keep using their own car.

  4. Catherine, c'est fantastique ce post avec le soleil artificiel, les images sont très belles.
Je peux imaginer les Champs Élysées pendant les Fêtes: ils doivent être jolis, vifs et bien décorés.

Great Shots!!! I like that big wheel or sun. I looks like a giant Farris Wheel. Thanks for sharing and coming by my place.

  8. I love the virtual Monochrome of the Wheel at night.
The other obelisque is on the Thames Embankment rather crassly called Cleopatra's Needle.

  9. When I saw your "sun" I had to laugh because I almost have the same picture on my photo post today as "creative photography"
I went yesterday to the Christmas market in Brussels and was more than surprised how big it is ! I live almost 50 years here now and didn't know that ! It probably only exists since a few years. You can see some pictures tomorrow in "my world". And tourists tourists tourists ! I didn't hear any french, only english, german and dutch, lol !

  12. That last shot is awesome (traffic and all). Makes me wonder what that wheel would look like in full night.
