SCHOOL TIME

"- What are you going to do this afternoon at school ? "I was asking to Gabriel, on the way to school.
"- I'm going to watch the little hand clock, until it arrives on 2. I'll take my cushion. Then I'll make a nap. Later, we'll have recreation time"
Wasn't it a nice schedule. don't our children learn perfectly organisation at school? Isn't someone who want to change his/her schedule against so much simplicity?

MONOCHROME MONDAY # 1

In 1865, Alexander II's son, tsarevitch Nicolas Alexandrovitch, died in Nice at 20 years old, from meningitis.

The Cathedrale has been built next to the villa where his son died in hommage.

At the end of the 19th century, French riviera was a destination for many easy Europeans. Especially, Russians. There's an other Russian church at San Remo (Italy)

If you want to visit other participants or, even better, join the team go and visit Aileni at Loose Ends who 's organizing Monochrome Monday.

I am a collector.

I have collected signs at the bend in streets.

They make part of the decoration of our towns.

Contrary to billboards, they give some atmosphere, they're somehow artistic.

ENCOUNTERED RANDOMLY

Meetings during trips, holidays or outings.
Connaissances pendant mes voyages, vacances ou sorties.

SKY WATCH FRIDAY # 14

"Le monosyllabe a une étrange capacité d'immensité: mer, nuit, jour, bien, mal, mort, oui, non, dieu." Victor Hugo

"Monosyllable gets a strange capacity of breadth : sea, night, day, good, evil, death, yes, no, god." Victor Hugo
The Sacré-Coeur of Montmartre, viewed from a window at the backstairs of our house.
I love this particular time of the evening, when sky get this deep blue color . So soothing !
The view for real, without zoom.

Here, the Sacré-Coeur on the other side.

I invite you to follow the link that brings you to other skies.
Just visit Sky Watch Friday hosted by Sandy, Tom, Imac, and Klauss.

FOLLOWING THE VISIT

What's that ? You ask .

Or that?

They're details of the roofing of the Cathedrale of Chartres.
about 900 years is contemplating us from this height.
About the chronology of its building, click on "façade".
Old stones, lichen, for the steeple.
Copper, one particularity of the roofing.

We've climbed, climbed, and climbed, ...300 steps....in a stair where it was quite impossible to pass someone coming the other way. My head was spinning.
To finally, arriving at the top.
Open air (read here : a lot of wind), watching the entire medieval city down below.

Look at these little people. It could have benn us a few minutes ago.*

Will you follow for the next post ? A part of the inside.

ILLUMINATIONS

Yesterday, we went to Chartres for the all day, and a part of the evening with our dear friends.
We wanted to attend to Chartres Illuminations on the walls of the main monuments.

Not that kind of restaurant Illumination although it is welcoming .

Neither these one.

Ni celles-ci.

Rather the kind of son et lumière .

The kind that makes people getting out in the evening, in the cold, to attend the performance.

And houses all around the Cathedrale.

.

The outside crypt

La crypte extérieure
Creatures are appearing at every corners.
Here, spectrums of light going along the facade of houses.

Can you feel them? They're just passing behind your shutters.

They've invaded the streets to protect the place during the dark night. Can you hear them whispering ?

They hang up their coat of arms which flies at your window.

There're also living gargoyles appearing at the corner of the streets, at the iron gate. Can you hear their hooves on the cobblestone ? Young children, and less young are scared !

Later, we'll visit the place at the day-light. The view from the steeple of the Cathedrale. The city liberated from its night creatures.
