MONOCHROME MONDAY # 16

An entrance at Montmartre.

If you're a little bit curious, you can find such curiosity in Paris. An ordinary facade hiding a marvelous courtyard with imposing stairway and many interesting details of architecture.

That's what we call a "porte cochère" - a carriage door with its treasures stolen to the street.

Please follow me and visit by yourself. Can you hear horses hooves on the paved entrance ringing out ?

.This badly framed picture juste to give you an idea from outside

  9. Could there be a better city to photograph in monochrome? No. So sweet.

  10. If those are the actual colors of the paving, you almost had a monochrome shot to start with!

And I see nothing wrong with the framing in the first shot. "Framed" doesn't always mean "perfectly centered"!

  22. Catherine, we call it a porte cochere too! (Maybe we don't spell it right though! Ha!) This week you could do any RED things you find in your home office, or RED for celebrating Valentine's Day or anything you want! Look forward to visiting your RT post! :)

  25. Most lovely, Catherine. Thanks for taking us along. Btw, the sandman is the same here in the USA, and indeed the driver of the sand truck would have enough to put all of us to sleep. Come to think of it, my nap that day was exceptional (!).

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm so happy to have found a French blog which is also written in English so I can brush a bit on the French, which is next to non-existent. I read better than I can speak or understand spoken French. Still, it comes very slowly.

I really enjoy your photos! I love the Ruby Tuesday set. Stunning red. Thank you!
